The invention of harnessing the power solar energy for heating and electrical use has been around for centuries. Solar panels and solar energy collection systems have are not a new idea either. However, until recent years, the cost of solar energy collections systems, otherwise known as solar panel systems has been very costly for the average homeowners. In today’s economy, more and more people are considering the benefits of installing these solar energy systems in their homes, due in large part to the fact that solar energy is a renewable and limitless alternative to the way electricity is provided. Many are finding it more cost effective to have these solar energy collection systems installed over a long term investment. Many find that it benefits their costs of producing and utilizing electrical power in their homes. The basis of a solar energy collection system is simple. The panels once installed collect the uvauvb rays of sunlight as it beams to the surface of the planet.

Other factors when choosing the right inverter are the amount of power you would want to generate and use, the size and wattage of the panel system you are looking to employ and how often you would want to recharge the battery system for backup. Back up battery systems may or may not be necessary depending on your geographic location. If you live in a sunny area where there are normal, consistent periods of sun shine with few rainy days, along with a grid tie inverter, then there is probably no need for a battery backup system. The panels will collect enough solar energy on most days and on the few days that it rains you can draw power from the power grid your inverter is tied in to. Back up battery systems are great for off grid inverters, as they store power so it can be utilized in times of darkness or overcast.
