These Iranian dates have yellow color, meaty body and having moisture less than other kinds of Dates, (less than 14%). Zahedi dates can be considered as the most frequently used types in Iran and are being mostly used for industrial purpose. It also has too much sugar and its shape is short about 3.5 cm, oval and thick. This yellow sweet Iranian date, which is full of energy and essential vitamins and minerals, is popular in Russia, Ukraine, India, Pakistan and UAE markets. This date grows in almost all tropical cities of Iran and harvest time for this date is September but the product is available from October to March.
Sayer date is semi dry with less than 16% moisture. Its color is light brown to red and has high commercial value. 70-80% of palms in Khuzestan province are Sayer dates and it is one of the most important exporting types in south of Iran. Sayer date is very popular in Europe and North America because of its low cellulose content, high sugar nutritious value. The harvest time is at the middle of September.
This type of Iranian Date which is also called as "Rotab" has an attractive black color and moisture between 15% to 35% and a size from 2.5 to 4.5 cm. It is considered the most important type of economical dates. Mazafati is full of vitamin B and can provide needed daily energy. The most desirable and delicious kind of Mazafati Date is grown in southern Iranian city of Bam which has a succulent flesh and soft texture. This Iranian date is soft and is popular in European countries because of its black color. The harvest time of Mazafati is at middle of August.
Piarum dates are one of the well-known and most important in Southern part of Iran. It is delicious, meaty and Semi-Dry with 15% moisture. The color of this unique date is dark brown. Piarum dates have thin skin and because of its low sugar it is suitable for diabetic people. It is mostly organic and does not use any chemicals at harvest and it is noted this king of date is washable. The size of Piarum date is between 4-6 cm and the harvest time is middle of September.
