With spectrum's kiln forming process the glass ends up with a natural fire polished edges.the shelves can be used toughened or annealed depending upon the load .

Normal float or toughened glass is also available starting at 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 15mm & 19mm with polished edges.

Colours: clear, starpfire, [low iron] green azuelite, bronze or grey.

Spectrum Art Glass has gained a solid reputation for quality craftsmanship in stained glass and leadlight manufacture.

Leadlights are individual pieces of clear, coloured or textured glass cut to shape and leaded together to form a design. This type of glass can be used for domestic or commercial appliactions. Our skills enable us to replicate turn of the century panels often found in older buildings.

Stained glass is hand painted and kiln fired glass which is then leaded together to form a design. This type of work is usually reserved for churches and commercial properties, but can also be used in domestic applications.

Water jet cutting, or abrasive jet cutting can be used on glass, metals, ceramics, plastics, rubber, foam, textiles, even stone with no heat affected zone to worry about in high tensile steels.

To lift large slabs of stone or heavy sheets of glass we have lifting equipment & an overhead gantry crane.

This technology uses extremely high pressure to focus ordinary water through a jewel orifice into a fine stream. This stream carries powdered garnet, which can cut through almost any material. Most materials can be cut quickly and cleanly, without heat.

Our premium glass monuments are translucent glass memorials created with kiln formed glass, 19mm to 38mm thick. The glass is heated to temperatures over 830 degrees celsius, then requiresseveral days to a week to properly cool. Each glass memorial contains a unique array of suspended air bubbles and natural textures. Your personal information and artwork are carved into the surface after cooling.

These luxury monuments can also be affixed onto a granite, concrete steel or stone foundation for permanency, and are createdwith the intent of lasting thousands of years, requiring little or nomaintenance. Compared with traditional monuments made of granite & marble, glass is a more sturdy, durable and lasting architectural material.

Each glass memorial will be built uniquely for the client and will glow in natural light, differentiating itself from standard monuments. We manufacture Slumped textural mirrors as shown in this gallery in standard or non standard shapes & sizes, using different types of enhancements ranging from silvering, colourbacking, sandblasting, custom texturising. The slumped mirror back is generally annealled when mounted directly on to the wall .

Halo mirrors are textural glass with the centre water jet cut out leaving the mirror exposed which is fixed to the wall & the slumped textural glass frame or halo is mounted of the wall with 20mm, 30mm to 50mm SSteel spacers & heads. Examples in this gallery.

If mounted off the wall with stainless steel spacers we recommend for the slumped mirror back to be toughened

Sandblasting can also be used to decorate plain mirrors by either etching to the rear ( for lighting effects or colour fill ) or face of the glass.
